The Gateway Arch
Any trip to St. Louis must feature a trip to the world famous Gateway Arch. Built over a period of 3 years the Arch stands 630 feet high, making it the tallest monument in the United States. It is also the fourth most visited attraction in the world! While inside the Arch there are several options for entertainment. You can choose to hop on a tram and ride to the top of the Arch or take a walk through the Museum of Westward Expansion. The Arch now offers both riverboat and helicopter rides, so there is definitely no shortage of things to do at the Arch!
St. Louis Zoo
If you have children then there is no way you should miss the St. Louis Zoo. This popular zoo is home to nearly 5,000 species coming from roughly 700 species. It is a pretty sure bet that your kids will get to see their favorite critters at this attraction. There are several activities offered inside the zoo, including a tram and even a petting zoo. And did I mention the best part, admission is free!
St. Louis Carousel
Located inside the famous Faust Park, the St. Louis Carousel is an amazing activity for any age. The old fashioned carousel, which was constructed in the 1920s. The nearly 60 handpainted and hand carved horses, deer, and chariots are a delight for any child.
Crown Candy Kitchen
Children and adults alike are usually plagued by a sweet tooth sometime during their vacation. Well, indulge your craving at the Crown Candy Kitchen in St. Louis. Here you can listen to music from a vintage juke box, check out the Coca Cola collectibles, and order a soda from the old fashioned soda fountain. This Kitchen was established in 1913 and since then has built a steady following dedicated to their homemade chocolate. If you are a bit more hungry, the Kitchen also has a full service menu, with a large dessert section, of course!
